If Trump hasn't already alienated millions of non-white Americans by now, he certainly has now. There are millions of voters that are now unlikely to vote for him.

it seems he can't open his mouth without diving in with both feet !

All Hilary has to do is stand and she will be in the White House.

How naive of you. You presume that he will be chosen as the Republican candidate. Think again.

The Republicans are in complete disarray, largely due to their inability to choose a presidential candidate that has any credibility. The chose a religious weirdo last time. Have you forgotten Sarah Palin ? She was the Republican Party nominee for Vice President in the 2008 Presidential election.

Trump may still buy his way to the candidature yet.

Whatever happens, he will split the right-wing vote with his ever stranger and more divisive statements. Read what he is saying now ....he wants to deport millions of people !

If he fails to win the Republican nomination he could always come over here and write a column for the Daily Mail. He seems to be displaying exactly the sort of xenophobia that is so popular among its readership!

Come on now Buenchico...he's not that bad !

The Democrats Dream Ticket for 2016....Trump as President and A N Other as vice-President !

It may surprise you but millions don't agree with your left wing mantra and will support Trump because he says this. He is appealing to right wingers not lefties !
But having said that I would agree the Repulican party has more than its fair share of nutters.
A bit similar to the UKIP then.

SirOracle....our AB right-wingers won't like that !

( But come to think about it....you may have a point....a Party not very keen on immigrants and full of weirdos ! )
Mr Fart has done it again
Hilary will be lucky if she's not in clink by election day.
Jeb Bush will come good and that is a far greater threat to the Clintons......
Question Author
But Mr Fart (thanks Ron ! ) has said that he intends to run as an independent DTC, "if necessary", so if he does, the Republicans can't possibly win.

I still think this is good news for Hilary.
Trump is all wind an no substance - the Americans aren't that daft. His impact will be minimal.....since when did any independent make any inroads into the overall election numbers - given that most Presidential elections may have five or six nominees on the ballot, something that may surprise a lot of Brits who think that it is a two-person race.
Apart from the two main contenders last time in 2012, the ballot paper included the following:

Libertarian Party - Gary Johnson, former governor of New Mexico

Green Party - Jill Stein, medical doctor from Massachusetts.

Constitution PartyV irgil Goode, former U.S. congressman, from Virginia.

Justice Party - Rocky Anderson, former mayor of Salt Lake City

Between them, they amassed an amazing 1.7% of the popular vote - hardly earth-shattering, mikey and Fartface will go the same way - into oblivion. The good news would be if he sold his Aberdonian resort to finance his wastage of a candidacy.
Republicans vote for their candidate. So far, he's in the lead. I wouldn't bet on this remaining the case - but I wouldn't have bet on it happening now, so my judgment isn't up to much. A cross between Romney and Palin - the money and the ditziness all in one person - may yet win the nomination.
Question Author
DTC...I do recall Ralph Nader and Ross Perot, but I have never heard of any of the people you have listed !

Surely Trump is on a different level altogether from those no-hopers ? He stands today as one of the high-profile Americans alive, mostly, it has to be said, for his constant gaffs.

My point is that if the Republican Party do pick him, then his overall weirdoness will ensure a Democrat win, just as Romney did in 2012, and McCain/Palin did in 2008. The Republicans are on a losing streak at the moment, and its all down to their choice of Presidential candidates.

There was a rumour that if McCain had have won the White House in 2008, and he died on the job, the Secret Service's orders was to shoot Palin !

You may be right about Jeb Bush, but I still think that if Hilary stands, she will be the first lady President of the the USA.

Wow...who would have thought it....a Clinton and a Bush fighting it out for the White House....again !
gawd help us if that awful woman gets into the WH.
I think you'd be surprised about how Trump is resonating with the American public... not just Republicans. Granted, it's too early to rely much on polls, but he has consitently lead at about 25%, with the next neares at less than 12%. I'm sure you are aware there's arround 18 or so candidates this time around.

Your reference to Trump's being able to buy his way to the Presidency is, ironically, one of the things that is in his favor with many Republicans... he is in no way beholden to the big money contributors who normally run the show with so many other candidates as well as his being able to disregard the liberal press in currying their favor.

Thing is, by and large, the U.S. voters are tired of 8 years of Obama and Company with the distinct feeling that the country is going down the tubes, with one of the drivers being illegal immigrants who (nearly 20 million by most counts) are now able to avail themselves of our largess in the way of programs thatere meant for the use of legal citizens. Not unlike what I see going on in Britain now, no?

It would be interesting to hear exactly what it is that piques your consistent criticism of Ms. Palin, Mikey. She's articulate, very conservative, accomplished and clearly conservative. Seems like the last time we had this discussion, your only announced complaint was you didn't like the names she gave to her children, which may or may not be a reason to criticize her political acumen.
Should have added that Ms. Clinton may be in perilous straits in that some of the conduct in the way of missing e-mails (from her time as Secretary of State), use of a personal e-mail server and other such items could be found to be not only in vilation of government regulations but is some cases criminal... I'm not holding my breath, however. It is tellin that the latest poll finds that 58% of U.S. citizens find her less than reliable as far as telling the truth is concerned. So much so that her nearest competitor is only 10 points behind her and he is a Socialist!
