We shouldn't be at all surprised by any of these revelations. The country voted in a Tory Government again, so these measures were on the cards. Its what always happens when we have a Tory regime in place. During the period between 1979 and 1997, millions of people were thrown out of work, thus relying in benefits. Its part of the reason why benefits levels are what they today.

Previously this week, it has been leaked that Osborne is considering making large cuts to Working Tax Credits ( AB yesterday) If he is thinking of cutting the benefits that go to working families, we can only guess what he will do to other people.

How long will Old Age Pensioners be immune from attack, for instance ?
oldbobasusual...while I like a debate, lets try to keep immigration out of this thread shall we ?
"while I like a debate, lets try to keep immigration out of this thread shall we ? "

why...most of them have come here and milked and stolen billions in benefits over the years...and dont tell people what they can and cant post on here
" Its what always happens when we have a Tory regime in place."

unlike a liebore regime that spends and spends and spends the country into virtual bankruptcy

cap 'family benefits at £23K - I should ruddy well think so -should be less -why should it be possible for a family to claim up to £23k a year when some families with two working parents are not getting that Net? ( and they have to pay childcare on top of that) Cut benefits to people who have no intention of looking for a job -like those who say 'well is it worth my while getting a job, will I be worse off? -make it worse off to not work!

oldbobasusual...you misunderstand me...post what you like, as long as it does not fall foul of the AB rules !

I was merely pointing out that most serious debates these days are hijacked, asap, by the Islamophobic usual suspects. They even tried to ambush an entirely innocent thread I started about women priests in the Anglican Church, although enough sensible people nipped that one in the bud ::::

By the way, left-wingers are vastly outnumbered by right-wingers here on AB.
Yes these should be cut, why should I have to go to work 40 hours a week to be paid less than someone who can punt out a couple of kids, and who gets their house paid for them, their council tax, school uniforms, milk tokens etc etc?
youre right oldbob it cettainly seems that way, and the mods.

seems the left on here can use all sorts of insults and vilify you with all sorts of names the second you dont fall into line with their opinions and dogma....you try doing the same to them and see what happens.....
(More debates seem to be hijacked by the SWP/ UAF suspects who irresponsibly throw the word racist and phobic words around with no real understanding what they mean). :0
