Ah, that most reliable of sources....YouGov.
The link only seems to be about Islam anyway. Hardly "multi"...
I believe the American influence on our culture has done irreparable harm. Chewing gum, rock and roll music, fast food joints, and their grotesque slang, are all things we'd be better without.
"Rock and roll music"- savages :-)
Hey, Sandy. The 1950's are on the phone. They want their opinions back.
The poll is not yet on the YouGov site. Without knowing the sample size and the margin for error, a 1% lead either way is not conclusive.

Multi means 'more than one'.
Can anyone give an example of where 'multiculturalism' has worked?
YouGov work to a 3% +/- margin of error.

So posting of a 1% result is pointless.
Yes, it does, aog. But seemed slightly misleading with your OP. Generally, different cultures should add variety, tolerance and open-mindedness. So, if you mean culture and not just crime, it is an advantage.
That kind of answers my point. We object to criminal behaviour. Not cultures.

One place springs to mind. Pitcairn Islands. I believe Mr Fletcher Christian and his fellow mutineers got on quite intimate terms with those half clad dusky maidens. True Paradise. :-)

Well different cultures definitely adds variety, that is obvious, but tolerance and open-mindedness? Only from the indigenous population I am afraid, and this is all part of our inbuilt British tolerance, but we see very little evidence of tolerance and open-mindedness coming from our foreign guests I'm afraid.
That's not in my experience, aog. Have only seen that in reports.

All part and parcel of the same thing I'm afraid, but it would not necessarily be if the various introduced foreign cultures, integrated with the British culture.
'spose it depends what we mean by "multiculturalism".

if we mean assimilating different cultures and adding variety, tolerance and open-mindedness, then britain has been multicultural for thousands of years.

increasingly though, it's come to be seen as the open-minded britishness existing side by side with the culture of the incomers, which has involved bending of previous values, and legal exemptions in some cases, to accommodate this. i'm sure others can supply examples.
Worse, definitely !
Is that the same YouGov that said we would now be ruled by Miliband/Sturgeon?

Its destroying the country and its identity...but then some people seem more than pleased by that....
