Good he thought he could walk on water
No doubt Milliband will follow shortly
Farage has just fallen on his sword as well.

People didn't vote LibDem in 2010 for them to get into bed with the Tories.

This is their revenge. It was all rather inevitable.

Many potential LibDem leaders were dumped yesterday, so the pool of talent to select a new leader is small.

Clegg will now go off to be a Eurocrat, but his party is wrecked, possibly beyond repair.

thanks balders. you have made my day. unfortunately he'll find some other way to live off our money. same with all of them who lost.
I agree with Nick. (On this latest pronouncement. Ho ho ho!)

Hardly fallen on his sword, he has only stood down as leader and will still take an active part, also stated that he would consider leadership again in the future.

So as Arnold Schwarzenegger said "ILL BE BACK".
Gromit......I doubt whether the LibDems are gone forever, just for the immediate future. They are now in a position that the old Liberal Party was in the 70's, an virtual irrelevance in British politics.

Perhaps they need to find someone to join up with, like they did with the SDP, in the time of the Two Davids.

Although, who they could pair up with anybody's guess.
Yes, you are right, AOG, and when he comes back for a 7th attempt to win a Westminster seat, we can defeat him all over again !

Personally, I can hardly wait. British politics will be a lot saner without him, but, alas, a lot more dull.

We, ???????????
I always suspected Mikey to be a closet Tory. ;o)

Incredible they were the exact words I was going to put, after reading mikey's comment.
// People didn't vote LibDem in 2010 for them to get into bed with the Tories. //

So you'd think all the disillusioned libdem voters would switch to Labour, but they haven't. The Tories have actually won seats that the Libdems held. I'm genuinely puzzled as to where the Libdem vote has evaporated to.
They can't all have voted Green.

♫ We'll keep a welcome in the hillside ♫

/// UKIP saw a 10.7% rise in its share of the vote in the seats which had declared by 4am. ///

/// It came second or third in several seats, doing particularly well in the

AOG...UKIP lost in Wales, just like it did everywhere else, bar one......get over it !
Ah, just asked about this chap on another thread...... What about Farage?
Bloody hell, I only read the OP

Just seen mikey's post.
Rise in UKIP vote is going to be substantial, if it is starting from zero i.e. no candidate standing, in 2010, or earlier.

I'm not saying the increase isn't genuine, I'm only saying that it's an artefact of mathematics. Talk of increases only when you have a sequence of two or more results.

I would like to know how many are never-voted-before types, rather than switchers or habitual floaters.
