A coalition with the SNP would destroy the labour party.
Can you imagine how poverty stricken labour towns would react if they saw buckets of cash wheeled over the border whilst they struggled? On many issues back bench labour MP's would have the choice: Tow the Party line and be out on their harris come next election or vote against their party to retain local support.

After having seen Sturgeon perform on the TV debate last night, my respect for her has grown enormously ! She is very feisty and looks to be very electable. She has already said that she will do everything in her power to fight against the Tories, and going into some kind of ad hoc arrangement with Labour after the Election is the only and best way of achieving that.
Coalitions are rarely announced beforehand....after all, I don't remember Cleggie giving his undying love for dave before the 2010 Election !

Nicola Sturgeon--Sensible!!
This is the woman who would spend our money on lowering the pension age in Scotland. Why is that? She bleats that the Scots have a habit of dying at an earlier age than the English. Well how unfair is that then?
Perhaps she would do better to get the Scottish NHS educate on the poor diet in Scotland that leads to a higher than normal death rate in the UK due to coronary disease and alcohol abuse.The dental health of the Scots leaves a lot to be desired as well.
A sensible person would address the problem of an early mortality rate rather than chuck other peoples money into adjusting the pension age.
BTW. Not a rant against the Scots.Just pointing out facts. My F.I.L is Edinburgh born and bred.Studied at Edinburgh University and is a G.P.He gave me these figures and they are easy to find on google.

Have we not, in the past,heard the natives of Cornwall and North Wales announce their outrage at the shortage of housing stock for their younger generation due to the English buying up holiday homes which remain empty for most of the year. I believe,as an Englishman,they have a valid point.
Sturgeon claims Farage is the bogeyman because he states the obvious.We cannot pour a quart in to a pint pot any more than we can allow thousands of immigrants to flood this country year after year without the necessary housing and infrastructure to support them.

With the result not yet decided, let alone the negotiations that will almost certainly follow, it seems to early to go for the "at any cost" line. Labour may well hold a tough line with the SNP and avoid making some sort of dodgy "throw everything at Scotland" deal. And, equally, who's to say that Cameron won't find some coalition to prop himself in power at the expense of being dragged way over to the right?
Not to say that the latter is more likely, somehow, but it seems a bad idea to fight an election campaign based mainly on second-guessing what follows hypothetical negotiations. Shouldn't the Tories be working on selling their record in the last five years? All this negative politics is very frustrating.

I might be wrong but in the event that Labour scrapes through, an alliance with the SNP would appear to be a foregone conclusion. What would the alternative be? To form a one party government and hold another election in a few months time in the hope of gaining a workable majority? I don't think Labour would risk it simply because I do believe that, like their supporters, they will take power at any cost.
