The way to look at this, aog, is that had he been prosecuted and convicted in this country he would have received, perhaps, four or five years custody, served about two and would have been released long ago to continue plotting the best way to cause carnage. At least he faces a lengthy period, if not whole life, in custody in the USA and that should provide people some respite from his odious activities for a decent while.

This country (with or without the Human Rights Act) has no stomach to properly prosecute and robustly sentence serious criminals. Take a look at various sentencing guidelines to understand that. Furthermore, it releases those sentenced to determinite periods in prison long before their sentence is served. The authorities are far too busy banning light bulbs and vacuum cleaners to worry about trifling matters such as potential mass murderers being at large.
Thankfully no, let the septics deal with him, they are much better at it. We'd have had armies of lentil crunching social workers handwringing for 10 years and then sent him on safari.
What more can I add.

The current situation is far better than him being here and no right-on lawyers or other Justice (I use the word lightly) personall letting him out to commt carnage.

But I am sure the right-on crowd will be along shortly bleating about his 'ooman rights.

There's still the chance that he might be extradite back to the UK to serve his sentence out here, that is of course if the Yanks don't execute him first.
Because in Austerity UK it's cheaper to leave it to the US.
Money is not the issue here, Canary. It is no longer "in our DNA" to properly sentence serious criminals, especially those such as this vile creature. There are too many people finding excuses for mass murder and other atrocities.
He won't see the light of day AOG, he'll either get 700 years jail or 24000 volts up his jacksy!
Look what haoppenned with Captain Hook, it took us 10 years to send him over to the spetics and they've banged him up in 3 months. We spent most of that time trying to get asssurances from the US that he would not be executed, wh0 gives a rats ar5se, you couldn't make it up!
I am sorry - New Judge should have recollected there is a two stage test done by the CPS, whether they could get a conviction and whether it is in the public interest

They decided that the first part would fail

I am sorry to inject a bit of good old British common sense into this discussion
Quite so, Peter.

It is somewhat puzzling, though, why the CPS decided there was no realistic chance of a conviction whereas the US authorities managed precisely that in a fairly short time. I'm not too sure I believe that the US justice system is that much less fair than the UK version. I imagine they have a little more will to see those guilty of plotting major atrocities brought to justice.
I think you have added an extra 0, TTT. 24000 volts, instead of the standard 2400, would not only have blasted him into space but quite likely to have brought the entire prison to the ground as well. Anyway, they have stopped firing bolts up the jacksie, it's all drugs these days. Executions are not what they used to be.
