Will My Boyfriend Go To Prison

My boyfriend has court Friday he's getting done for gbh not sure if it's intent or without he don't normally drink and decided to one nice whilst we was out got into abit of trouble and hit someone and broke there jaw only hit him once no excuse for it I know admitted to offence straight away etc his solicitor said he should get a suspended sentence with community service hours, since him he's had a new solicitor and he's told him he could get a custodial sentence but not sure just wondering what to expect so scared he has no criminal record but not sure what's going to happen?

Need a lot more detail of the incident to make a comment. GBH with intent S18 is almost always jail but GBH without intent S20 is often a non custodial.

Expect a short custodial sentence.

You may be lucky ad get a liberal judge that gives a suspended sentence, in which case suggest he quickly learns his lesson and sorts himself out. Admitting it will hopefully help.

I speak from personal experience, not exactly same circumstance and a while ago.

Hoping it don't come the custodial sentence the probation people have advised then judge for suspended sentance and community service so hopefully the judge realises how sorry he is

In my experience it is best to expect the worst, if it doesn't happen then good. But it rally depends on the beak you get,

Whatever happens he should try to learn from it. Tw^ting people does often ends in problems,

Also having any record can haunt you for years. I had to declare allto the US authorities to work out there, and every time I go for another job, working in finance I have to declare it especially if sc cleared. Dont't mean you dont get it but at 50+ it starts to get embarrassing.

I know thanks it's even more heart breaking that our 1 year old son ISO attracted to him among me so upset and he has no record or has never been in trouble before just hope the judge is having a good day as he's a brilliant father,boyfriend and a genuine good person :(

If you look at the timing he might not have read the correction before he posted.

This is just personal experience but I know quite a few people that have been given community service and a fine for GBH. Fingers crossed x
