Sad. I can't believe that he was 72.
Sad news...:(
Sad news. I remember him when he was Shane Fenton and the Fentones
I' m sorry to hear that, I remember him as Shane Fenton and, though not a huge fan, enjoyed his music.
No wolf, but my mate died last week aged 54 of a heart attack so in comparison ...

Still, RIP Alvin.
Great shame - always a very nice man who never took himself too seriously.
I remember hearing him being interviewed on the radio about his appearance on TOTP and why he was wearing gloves. Apparently he'd bought a home dye kit for his hair and made a real botch of it and badly stained his hands hence wearing the gloves. It really made me chuckle as he described the state of the bathroom as I thought to myself......yep been there!
Stardust's £1 guitar now worth £1m...

Another sad loss....keep playing in heaven.......RIP Alvin
To be honest, I hadn't heard anything about for years. Seemed a nice chap though !
One of my all time favourites, in whatever guise.
Rest in Peace, thanks for the music.
I didnt realise he was Shane Fenton. I saw them play at a local venue around 1967.
Does anybody remember him in 'The Grimleys?'
RIP Alvin
R.I.P.

Wow! Check this clip out. A real blast from the past.
Awww, I liked him, rip Alvin.
I'm sure in the late fifties he used to be called Wayne Fontana and the mindbenders as well. Loved his music and his talent. HIs memory is sure to go on.
