Easy to say it is France's problem, but do we need them here, and if we don't what can be done to prevent it?

Yes I have got the UKIP Calypso playing in the background as I type.
Yes I like the UKIP calypso, says it as it is, should release it as a single.
Don't let them IN to Europe in the first pace. To get to Calais, they've already passed through at least one other country first, so they've already reached "safety"
Get out of the EU and close the channel tunnel. Enough ! We are full up to overflowing.
Open the door / gate / ship / HGV / Boat, we let every other fecker in.
One country which they didn't pass through en route to Europe was Libya, but that was because we paid Muanmar Gaddhafi not to allow it.
I wonder what happened to him.
It is easy to say it's the problem of France. They allowed these people into France through their open border. Vive la difference. We simply are Not party to the Schenglen treaty. If they are fleeing worn torn countries then they have arrived at their solution and can apply for asylum in France or whatever other country before France is deemed a safe haven. Tonight I will be watching a plea for aid for these ancient cultures to assist them in their quest to find water. If ,after all these years, they can't still find water in their own county how did they find their way to France? France has to send them back and tighten their border controls. These people are NOT entitled to free movement in the EEC so are illegal and should be dealt with accordingly. As for the UK. Pull down the shutters and tell them we are closed to useless spongers and more mouths to feed.We do not need a black economy.
I agree janbee, well said.

We are FULL UP!
good idea retro, can we also export some of our indigenous spongers?
(The UKIP Calypso, as discussed elsewhere, is actually full of lies and half-truths, as well as being sung in a silly accent by Mike (Lance Percival he ain't -- nor Lance Gibbs) Read.
Apart from that it has everything going for it)

One answer to the issue of migrants from E Africa is for us to do more to help make these countries more bearable for their citizens to live in. When you see what life is like for people in Eritrea for example it's hardly surprising they want to risk their lives to escape. The answer is NOT to penalise lorry drivers, making them scared to stop for a rest and thereby endangering their own and other road users lives.

Perhaps you would be in favour of Colonising them, then perhaps we could make sure everything was run properly?
The UKIP Calypso is written and sung by EX Radio One DJ Mike Reid and no doubt can be bought from his site.
"Perhaps you would be in favour of Colonising them, then perhaps we could make sure everything was run properly? "

Being a practical sort of person I'm interested in a solution that might actually work. You'll never stop desperate people unless you begin to address the reasons for their desperation.
