According to Sky News this morning...the ticker-tape strip at the bottom of the screen...Julian Assange is thinking of leaving the Ecuadorian embassy. If he does, I hope his feet scarcely touch UK soil before he is whisked aboard a Scandinavian aircraft and bustled off to Stockholm!

Would justice be served if he eventually found himself doing a long term in an American prison?

"Julian Assange could be considering leaving the Ecuadorian embassy and handing himself in to police, Sky News understands.

After spending two years holed up inside the central London building, the Australian is holding a news conference this morning - when he is expected to spell out his next move.

Widespread reports suggest the WikiLeaks website founder needs hospital treatment for heart and lung problems."

Too damn right it would.

But that isn't about to happen. He needs to go to Sweden first.
Nasty smug little Man !
Remind me, what is it the Americans want him for? Publishing embarrassing documents, wasn't it?
Worse in Sweden !
No Sandy, you are confusing it with newspapers like the Sun and the Daily Mail. They specialise in publishing embarrassing documents. Assange appears to have done far worse, but seems to think he can use it to hide behind the alleged heinous crimes in Sweden. You'd think a nation like the Equadorians would be so gullible.
I'm not particularly fussed what happens to him so long as (a) he is called to answer for his alleged crimes in both Sweden and the USA, (b) he is expelled from the UK as soon as he emerges from his bolt hole and (c) he is not provided with medical care for his new problems in any UK hospital.
Julian Assange has told a news conference he will leave the Ecuadorian embassy in London "soon" after more than two years holed up inside the building.

The Australian spelled out his plans for his next moves alongside the Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino at the embassy in Knightsbridge.
Hear, hear, NJ.

About the only thing this bloke can do well is self-publicity. Trouble is, it only gets him into further trouble.
Kristin Hrafnsson Wikileaks spokesman says Assange ready to leave at any moment if UK allows safe passage, but no plans to hand himself in!
If Britain was going to give him free passage, surely he would have left the place months ago ?
The UK cannot legally avoid the international arrest warrant that Assange is under. He MUST return to Sweden to assist with the rape enquiry.
I think you should become WikiLeaks publicity director, J. You clearly understand the issue far better than they and their unesteemed leader do.
Please don't treat him on the NHS. Enough money Already waisted on this traitor. Swift journey to Heathrow and a one way ticket to Sweden, or the US. I don't care which.
Or maybe he can join his mate Snowdon in that beacon of free speech Russia!
Well that was a non-event. The Ecuadorian foreign minister referred to "recent changes to the extradition laws in the UK which he believed would mean Mr Assange would not be facing extradition if the case started today". Getting desperate now!
I'd bet he will be unfit to travel, and will end up in a nice private hospital with 24 hour security guards, all at our expense.

Just like the Great Train Robber...

I only wish I shared such confidence.
