Have you noticed when people of a certain age seat themselves (particularly into a comfortable chair) they make a sort of sighing groaning noise which the young never do. Are you doing it too?

Yes it's an 'ahh' when I sit down a 'ooh' when I bend down and a 'ahh' when kneel down.. where do all these groans come from as we get older?

It can't have anything to do with attention or sympathy seeking, because I find I am doing it even when alone, strange! I swear I never did it when I was younger.

These are settling noises, similar to an old house creaking as it finds a slightly more comfortable position.

I do it! I also go 'Oop!' when I bend down to tie my shoes.

I am now at an age where I am thinking - what else can I do while I'm down here!
