South African mine shootings; insult added to injury...

Comrades of the miners shot dead by the police are now to be charged with their killings. Incredible!
In an earlier post I likened the SA authorities to the pigs in the book, Animal Farm. If you can spend long enough with your snout at the trough, you turn into the very thing that once oppressed your people. Was I wrong?

When I heard this on the news earlier my eyes popped and my jaw dropped. From your link
'South African prosecutors are charging 270 arrested miners with the murders of 34 striking colleagues who were shot and killed by police officers.'

The police officers shot them, they pulled the trigger, they should be on trial imo.

As yet, I am unclear who decided to rake up an old apartheid law with which to charge them.
Sadly sandy, you may well have a point
But what did anyone really expect? SA is not a communist state so it was highly unlikely to hand out all the riches was it?
