For his Mother's sake I pray is not a hoax.

I've just read the link...but can't see where it says that the locations of Keith's body is going to be revealed.
I truly believe that Hindly and Brady received "proper" sentences. i.e......they killed and they stayed in prison. Hindley died in prison and Brady will too. That is how it should be. Not....released after 10 years for good behaviour or whatever. Wrong, wrong, wrong. I don't believe in capital punishment (purely because it has since been proven that innocent people were hanged. Can you imagine what that would be like if it were you???) However, I do believe that life should mean life. |

It's just said on the radio that someone in their forties has been arrested on suspicion of concealing a body...
^ that can't be right, the person would be too young (or not born)
let us hope and pray that it is some sort of mind game with the authorities.
And that they find the poor wee boys remains. |
something about his legal representation, so if it was his lawyer or such who knows the existence, whereabouts of Keith then that person would surely have been withholding evidence.
Ah, that would make sense, em - not someone who was there at the time, but someone who was told the information by Brady at a much later date. Radio's just said that it's his legal advocate who's been arrested for preventing the burial of a body.

BBC news
Moors Murderer Ian Brady has revealed information about where one of his victims, 12-year-old Keith Bennett, is buried, detectives believe. Police think Brady gave details to a visitor to his psychiatric hospital. A woman arrested in south Wales on suspicion of preventing a lawful burial of a body was named by Press Association sources as his mental health advocate, Jackie Powell. |

I think Invisible lady doesn't understand the diference between a sentence and a tarrif
A sentence doesn't necessarilly mean imprisonment - you can be sentenced to community service So a life sentence doesn't mean spending your life in prison There is such a thing as a whole life tarrif - that does mean that Ian Brady is on one Here are the others http:// so can we *please* stop saying stupid things like "Life should mean life" |
It seems unlikely he'd give that information to anybody without getting something in return. It's the bargaining chip he'd been holding onto.
They're explaining on the radio at the moment that this came to light as a result of someone making a documentary for Channel 4, and the existence of a letter from Brady was revealed.
^ on BBC radio 4 at the moment

It is Brady's legal solictor that was arrested for with-holding information which has prevented the lawful burial of Keith Bennett. Whether that information gives accurate details of where Keith is buried remains to be seen. After all these years and with motorway construction, it may still mean that his remains may not be found. I hope that they are and his mother can finally put him to rest.

If it's a sealed letter who, apart from the madman Brady, knows what's in it? It might even contain one final taunting insult saying she'll never know now where the remains of the boy are.
Not only do I not believe this to be true, I do not even think it is possible after nearly 50 years to remember a location on the moors. I fear this is a last cruel act before he dies.
if it i then let him go to his grave sooner than later
I agree with Gromit - having studied Brady at some length this is him getting his last kicks - he knows Mrs Bennett is very ill and likely to pass on soon - it is her wish to see her son buried.
Brady is all about power and this is his last bit of power that he will hold onto as he does not even have the power to starve if he so wishes! |
// After all these years and with motorway construction //
The M62 is no where near the location of previous burials of victims. It is highly unlikely that they changed location for Keith Bennet. They have previously searched areas suggested by Hindley, again no where near the motorway. I suspect they may have been close on that occassion, but pinpointing an exact location after 40 years is impossible. |
I hope Keith's mother will one day get closure, swiftly followed by Brady swallowing his own tongue!
