I think you will find it is all part of the large police crackdown on child abduction cases, but one cannot comment any further if it happens to involve Muslims.

And there was also a recent case were some 'White British' men were also involved with others in a child abduction case.

Britain's biggest newspaper website not only ran several stories regarding the Muslim grooming gang, but also did not prevent their readers from mentioning the religion of the perpetrators.

Indeed, Ms Melanie Philips wrote a very strongly worded article on the very subject earlier this year.

Also, if you thumb back a few screens on AB, there was a pretty intense debate on it (over a period of about ten days).

In what why is debate being stifled?

They seem to advocate chopping off hands for theft and other offences in their own country. Can we not adopt a like for like sentence for those who transgress here instead of deporting them immediately.

Quite a few ABers are convinced it will happen in their lifetime, but you're the first person I've seen calling for it!

I was referring to the family - wouldn't we all feel like that if these vile people hurt our children.

No sharia law here jno, far from it, but just a short lesson to those who think our children are fair game, before we put them on a plane and send them to an Islamic country of their choice.
I do not advocate sharia law at all. But I hope that there is enough sense among those who embrace Islam and indeed our own government to see that it's outlawed here.

Perhaps we are not sufficiently "culturally sensitive" - the position of underage girls and women in general is different in Moslem communities.

So why don't we then. I believe that is the main problem. People are caught but what happens after that?

I hate to keep repeating myself, but this was going on when I was old enough to recognise it - while I was at school.
Girls from care homes being picked up from school in cars; the same girls talking about their 'boyfriends' and showing off their presents.
I lived very close to a care home and the police were often there because girls had gone missing, or they were bringing girls back.
These homes are just like fishing boats attracting seagulls but the girls don't have the maturity or stability to deal with it.

Not just girls, either.

I expect that some 'men' have always preyed on vulnerable girls and boys and I would be very surprised if that isn't a worldwide problem.

On the positive side, the problem is now being addressed by the police, courts and society. Children are taken seriously when they make complaints and something is being done - at last. Children are finding their voices.

These recent prosecutions don't prove that abuse is on the increase - it proves something is being done about it. And about time too
