So the police are now going to investigate charges of murder 40 years after the event, following the findings of the 12 year long, £195million inquiry by Lord Saville.

This latest investigation could last another 6 years at a cost close on £8m.

What about the 53 men that the The Parachute Regiment lost, who is to investigate their murder? but then all these terrorist killers have been released and treated with respect by our politicians.

If there were any charges to be made for the killing of those on 'Bloody Sunday' then they should have taken place at the time. not 46 years after at a cost of £203m.

The decision has been made by Northern Ireland's Chief Constable. Can't really see any prosecutions either resulting or, if they do , any convictions resulting. There must be enormous evidential difficulties in prospect. But the Chief Constable is not a lawyer.

IRA killers were hunted down and many imprisoned. As soon as it was determined that the bloody sunday victims were innocents and killed unlawfully then it was inevitable and right that the people who killed them should be brought to justice.

You seem to believe that after a certain time has passed, that killings should go unpunished. Would you like to tell us how many years you think must pass before guilty people cannot be brought to account?

If your brother or father was killed 40 years ago and an inquiry found the people responsible for killing them acted unlawfully had escaped justice, would you still be happy to say it doesn't matter and they should not be not be persued?

Only a few months age an IRA man was convicted of an attempted murder which happened more than 30 years ago. Under the terms of 'The Good Friday Agreement' he will serve no more than 2 years of his sentence before he's released.
What happened on Bloody Sunday in Derry was murder. If the murderers were convicted they could think themselves lucky that they would serve such a short sentence for such a serious crime.

Are you really blaming the IRA terrorists for the police locking up innocent people instead of the guilty ones? If the police had done a proper job investigating at the time then the scumbags who planted those pub bombs might have been caught. Instead, the case was closed when they got 10 wrong locked away.
