Yes Jonny but, only one of leaders of the countries in the region has gone on prime time TV with a plan of action that involves wiping another country off the map. You carry on with the Chamberlainism, I don't think Israel will settle for a "peice of paper" solution. Israel is not waiting for a "say so" it's waiting for the West to sort it before it has to. I would venture that Iran is determined to acquire Nuclear weapons and from your comments regarding their neighbours I'd say you are too. So really we are talking about intent. Do you not believe the Iranians when their leader says they want to wipe Israel off the map?

Time for talking is over. Iran will not change its stance whilst the madmen are in charge.
Due to the potential of being aniolated Israel has little choce. As you say pieces of paper mean nothing (apart to liberals) |

// LONDON - British government ministers are discussing what role the country could play in a possible military confrontation in the Middle East over Iran's nuclear program, the BBC reported on Wednesday.
Ministers are considering whether any involvement from Britain would be legal if talks with Iran break down and Israel bombs Iran's nuclear facilities. Such a move risks starting a wider war in the region and a closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a major oil-shipping sea lane, the report said. // http:// |

The wiping Israel off the map quote is now acknowledge to have been a mis-translation.
There are Presidential Elections in Iran this year and DinnerJacket is expected to lose. Most Israelis do not want a military solution and will accept a diplomatic deal. |
|
they are just stalling and buying time, they will keep on with this until they get nuclear weapon capability
|
|
////Or should we just let Israel drop a couple of bunker busters?////
What else have we done so far any way? |
|
Israel has nuclear weapons. If Iran gets them they will both be faced with the MAD (mutually assured destruction) situation that kept Europe safe for nearly 50 years.
Some country should give Iran the bomb. |

There are Islamic fudamentalists among those in power in Iran, who would be quite willing to see a few million deaths in a war against Israel and the West - they have already had a war with Iraq where hundreds of thousands died.
The dogs in the street have known for years that Iran was building a bomb, but our leaders closed their eyes, just as Neville Chamberlain's government did. DISCLAIMER - there is no parallel or resemblance whatsoever between Iran and Germany in the 1930s - it's our attitude I'm discussing |

gromit - not sure the Jerusalem Post is an impartial source of information - perhaps Radio Iran may have a view...

Gromit, the name is Ahmadinejad, I realise the Daily Mail probably misspell it though.

In Iran isn't it the case that the imcumbent only accepts the result of an election if he's won?
|

Ok, here is the scenario. Israel attacks Iran on the "assumption" that Iran may attack Israel. And that action by Israel will have a full backing of the West as Israel probably doing that as self defence.
Very good logic. Sometimes I do wonder if USA is a bigger Israel or Israel a smaller USA. Their ways of thinking are always same. The way “now” Americans wiped out local population of original Americans natives, same way Israel has almost wiped out Palestinians. That also reminds me USA stance, that USA “will have the right to” attack any country if they “suspected” that they “might be” attacked by that country. On the other hand I am trying my best to think that what has not attacked USA yet, Mars, Alien, Viruses, Tornadoes, Earth quakes, Hurricanes, asteroid and almost everything else. And yes, you are right in thinking that all of that happened in Hollywood movies. But their mentality is same. They always need (and create) a villain so that they could act as heroes. |

I may be wrong but didnt Winston Churchill say "jaw jaw better than war war" talking is better than fighting,

yes baza, Mr Chamberlain tried that

But why should other countries rather than Iran and Israel get involved. Israel has nuclear weapons Iran does not and so the Jewish state is well able to protect itself especially as it has a missile defence system given by the US. Israel is not a down trodden country that needs the world to protect it.
