Aircraft Flying over Buckinghamshire yesterday 13/5/2012

Yesterday around 11AM-1200 An aircraft flew over part of the Chiltern Hills near to Chinnor in the direction of High Wycombe. It returned about 3/4 of an hour later. I could not identify it but it was a high wing with twin engines and twin tail fins, possibly a WWII aircraft. Could anybody identify it please ?

No it wasn't a lightning, I though it was a Lancaster but I only caught a glimpse of it.
what about a de-havilland mosquito?
Lancaster has four engines, Mosquito has single tail fin.
excels....."twin tail fins"...mosquito has single tail.

i can't think..........but will continue ;-)
Halifax?..........although that has 4 engines.
