Nothing new there then.

Every American President has to believe in the mythical being, you are just saying one mythical being makes someone more primitive for believing in a different mythical being.

That said, Romney would be scary.
what's new about that, George W had a lot to answer for...
Bit a of clumsy sentence above, I don't think Romney is mythical.

Looks like Obama will serve a second term.
Brenden, much against the odds, but in some ways i hope he does. The opposition look positively barking.
Em, I think Obama will slaughter Romney in the run up to the election, I did not want to see him serve a second term - but - where is the opposition.
Obama could well do it because of the lack of credible alternatives, he hasn't delivered what everyone expected though, much to my surprise. I actually believed that he would pull America around, but seems it's the same old story, promise a lot but much can't or won't be achieved.
Haven't the Republicans already coceded the election? Nothing else explains the pissp00r candidates.

Why, with a population of a quarter of a billion ... can the Americans not find someone ""normal" to run the country ??
normal equates to poor, or shall we say not have a pot to pee in, in election terms. You need mighty big friends, with lots of dollars, and enough clout to put you there. Obama is undoubtedly a very clever man, but that doesn't always equate to a successful presidency.
i like American politics better than British, it's at least more entertaining, albeit a bit long come election time.
On the plus side, the withdrawal of the bloke who advocated a nuclear strike on Iran is a plus.

Given the size of the country, you would think that the Republicans would have come up with at leaset a moderatly intelligent and personable candididate.

Obama must be laughing himself to sleep at night.
The oft use phrase ' Wanting to become a politician should automatically disqualify someone from ever becoming one ...' is never more true than in American politics.

Sadly, in order to be within an orbit of getting to the White House, you already have to have serious money behind you, and a commitment to pleasing the people who are paying for you. Therefore by definition, you are in the thrall of millionaires who like their own way.

Not a good system for government is it?
Oh Andy 'tis America "Land of the free" (tm) where anyone can make it, you don't need money just your dreams.
Who said it, Mitt Romney or Mr. burns?

Why do some have to be so abusive in their words?

Cannot one just disagree with another one's politics without the need for calling them a loony who's beliefs belong in some primitive tribe?
