This happened last September, not much chance of catching him now!

Doesnt it say they did appeal for him to be found at the time but since it was featured on the programme they are hoping someone will recognise him.
<<The incident - highlighted on the BBC's six-part The Tube documentary on Monday night - shows the very real dangers faced by commuters and staff each day.

British Transport Police are still hunting the man behind the vicious assault, describing him as smartly dressed.

The incident took place on Friday, September 16, at about 11.20pm, but police are so keen to find the man they have re-appealed again for more information on the back of the BBC's documentary.>>

That's why.
I can't understand why these images weren't published much earlier. There's still a good chance he'll be recognised.
They may have appealed locally at the time, just not nationally.

Whilst what happened is shocking and awful, lots of shocking and awful things happen every day which go barely mentioned. If every bad thing that happened was reported on you'd need a truck to deliver your newspaper every day.
If you'd read the article fully you could have answered your own question
What i find even more amazing is how several people could not restrain that small slim man "The friend tried to headlock him" I would've thought that someone attempting to kill your female friend would warrant a lot more than a simple headlock

It was not published nationally have checked.
He is not likely to stay around locally but get out of town. That girl could easily have died!

Mk22, that's what I thought, there were about 5 people on him but, they were still brave, he could have had a knife or other weapon?
What amazed me about that picture was the boyfriend who decided to leave his girlfriend on the track and pursue her attacker. I would have thought the main thing on your mind was to help her first.
He had a European accent, yellow tinted glasses and a black hat...........is it Bono?

Well there can't be many of them around.
