Is this this headline sexist or merely stupid?

How many on AB vote in accordance with how attractive the MP is?

If Theresa May suddenly changed her hairstyle, would newspapers be asking the same question of its male readership?

Do we still think women are so shallow that hey will vote for someone who is (for wont of a better word) 'sexy'? or is this just another example of the way that certain right-leaning journalists think (including the female ones - shockingly enough).

I won't be voting for him again!!
leave me alone Anne ... :0/

and who told you?
Some peoples opinion is literally informed simply by looks or presentation.

Does anyone remember the slaughtering in the press Michael Foot got some years back? That kind of thing simply doesn't happen any more and its no coincidence.
It is a stupid article, but looks and presentation skills do influence some voterrs.

The Labour Party would probably be doing better now if Ed Milliband didn't have an odd appearance.

Whilst I appreciate that Mr Milliband has a certain look of Wallace about him, it wouldn't stop me from voting for him, and I hope the same would go for female voters. The piece suggests that women specifically go for looks when they come to vote.

I can't imagine a similar article about a female politician making it onto the site.

Got nothing to do with their past record then?

Your statement is much more stupid than the article which you similarly accuse.

If that were true, Labour would not have been ahead of the Conservatives in every YouGov poll in the last 13 months.

That's what I'd expect the vast majority of women to say. To assume they'd be swayed by something so trivial is quite shocking.
"Whilst I appreciate that Mr Milliband has a certain look of Wallace about him, it wouldn't stop me from voting for him"

and nor should it but for a lot of people it would.
My Christmas card from Ed came yesterday.

Did anyone else get one?

In most cases the best looking candidate usually wins. Its human nature to chose the most attractive person, male or female.
