i don't care what racial origin he is, that is beside the point i am making ...

he isn't a paid up contributor to the National Insurance or tax system FULL STOP, whatever colour or origin, and also forget the fact that his disability claim was fake!

he is housed and receives £400,000 worth of services he doesn't actually need ... how?

and his family are now getting british pensions ... how?

elderly and disabled people i know can't get diddly squat and they have paid in! what on earth went on and who will take the blame?

answers on a postcard ...

You'd have to ask the powers that be that question!
Seems ridiculous to me that he wasn't checked out years ago. Why can't all the relevant agencies be linked ?

I don't care what his background is either - he's a liar, he pretended to be fleeing from Afghanistan and his parents were dead. I would feel the same if he'd been born and bred here and paid into the system for years - he's a liar and a cheat. There are very genuine asylum seekers who ARE fleeing torture and oppression - this sort of story does their case no good at all.
that's the way our system works. benefits are for those living (not illegally) in the country. this includes people awaiting the outcome of asylum claims.

plenty of legal UK citizens make false claims for benefit, too.

perhaps his parents receive Pension Credits. you need to have contributed towards a state pension.
Because he claimed political asylum
shame they don't look after the ones that have worked for years as well as they have looked after him and his family
shame they're going to take an extra £80-100 from my monthly salary, towards my pension from next April..

I'm still not sure how I'm going to manage that one.

thanks for replies.

i see he had political asylum, but even so, how was £400,000 available for one person's care?

Some have said "i don't care what racial origin he is",

Well I do, we have enough of our own 'benefit cheats' 'fraudsters' and 'con artists' without the need for importing more from abroad,
these imported villains make our home bred villains look like amateurs.

The question must be asked is how do they managed to cheat the taxpayer out of such large sums of money?

Some can't even speak English but they know how to fill in the correct forms giving the false information in which to get themselves passes off as bona-fide benefit claimants.

The same could also be said for our own home-grown cheats, they mostly belong to a certain class of individual who can only be described as 'not the sharpest tool in the box', and yet when it comes to applying for numerous benefits, they successfully managed to hit the jack pot, and go on to live a pretty comfortable life on the proceeds.

When found out why doesn't there seem to be any inquiries into who processed their claims and who finally put their signature of approval on the claim?

Heads should roll.
AOG, if someone fills in a form and says they're not working, have disabilities, have no capital, don't have a partner living with them etc.. what do you think we should do?

we certainly do not have the resources to put every customer under surveillance. it's the claimant's responsibility to make an honest claim. you can't blame the benefit processors!
Question Author
when i said, 'i don't care what racial origin he is' i meant that some people who are non-white and british are fully paid up and entitled to (honestly)claim!

thanks for replies! i guess my question was more rhetorical ...
sara3 don't they send them for medicals down south
for some benefits, yes.

/// it's the claimant's responsibility to make an honest claim. you can't blame the benefit processors! ///

Well it seems I have heard it all now and straight from the 'horses mouth', so to speak.

That's absolutely amazing, I wonder what percentage of the population are complete liars?

No wonder the country is 'cash strapped'.

Perhaps those St Paul's protesters are who are at the moment targeting the bankers, should in fact be targeting the benefit processors?
aog you try claiming for something you will have a shock, i think they must give extra to some so that they can make a good story for the papers :)
AOG, I can't believe what you've just said.. do you think benefit processors are on commission?

what is your (sensible/realistic) suggestion for rooting out honest claims from dishonest ones?

and I am not a benefit processor.
sara3

I cant read anything in my answer that gave you the impression that I suggested that benefit processors are on commission?

All I was addressing was the nonchalant way you claimed that it is the claimant's responsibility to make an honest claim.

I also didn't say that you were a benefit processor, maybe it was because you said "we certainly do not have the resources to put every customer under surveillance", that might have given one the impression that you were.

As regards your question, what is your (sensible/realistic) suggestion for rooting out honest claims from dishonest ones?

That is not my job, neither am I trained to do so, but one would expect those that have had the training, would possess the skills necessary to be able to recognise most of the dishonest ones.
I work for the DWP, but not in every Department.

if a form is filled in fully, and the declaration signed, a benefit claim can be considered. I can only suggest that the incomplete or iffy looking claims are not paid on, or that further verification is sought. that would be quite logical, even to the untrained eye.

no point in just griping if there is no obvious solution, in my opinion.
i don't know either, whilst struggling with the DWP, a nightmare and a half, and so if bstards like this can do, get away with it for so long, how many more, and all those who need it, have to go cap in hand, or are turned down. Hope he rots in jail.
>>AOG, if someone fills in a form and says they're not working, have disabilities, have no capital, don't have a partner living with them etc.. what do you think we should do?

So we pay out hundreds of thousands of pounds to someone who claims to have serious disabilities without any sort of check, just because they filled out the form corrently.

If so we are a stupid gullible country and no wonder we are a haven for benefit cheats from around the world.
what's the answer then, VHG? surveillance for every claim that is made? how will that be funded?

how do you think claims should be considered?
