Am I the only sceptic here who thinks that the pie thrower was actually set-up by the Murdochs to stage that particular incident to evoke some sympathy for an 80 year old man?

Conspiracy theorists abound as usual, but I think you are wrong, I'm no great fan of R.M. but the idea that he would stage something like this for public sympathy - something he has eschewed all his life- is way off the mark. It wasn't a stunt, just the act of a sad attention-seeking moron.
