In recent years, I'm having increasing trouble telling the spoofs from the truth.......except in the red-tops where subtlety is in very short supply.

I thought the story about the UK giving refuge to one of the leading figures in the Gaddafi regime was an early April Fools joke. Apparently not.

One I read NOT a joke. As from today Scotland, Wales AND Northern Ireland all have free prescriptions whereas we in England not only subsidise them but have to fork out £7.40 an item.

I think we'll have to wait for the 12.00pm 'reveal' to find out quite which things were April Fool's jokes and which were, sadly, true.
BMW used to do some cracking adverts in the paper years ago. Do they still do that ? These days I tend to get my news on-line and they don't really 'do' adverts... |

In the early 90s the Scottish News reported that David Lynch was making a 3rd series of Twin Peaks in Scotland - starring such Scottish 'stalwarts' as Rikki Fulton and Jimmy Logan. I was a huge TP fan and I didn't know whether to be over the moon or brokenhearted at the poor choice of stars. Till I remembered the date....
