Ive never been one for these ''what are you having for dinner/tea'' type threads but this is a more ''scientific'' (couldn't think of a better word) type question.
Since having to get up at 5am everyday to get my son of to work, Ive taken to having a cooked breakfast...this morning it is bacon, tomatoes and toast...whereas before I would probably just have a piece of fruit or just a cup of tea. It seems as though my metabolism has changed with my waking up time. I'm ravenous in the morning now but eat less throughout the day.
Why is this and what do the early birders breakfast on. I'm curious.

Just tea n toast for me Nailit not a breakfast big eater only have toast because of my insulin in the mornings
lol..your body clock is readjusting..I seldom have breakfast before noon , copious amounts of tea 'till then...bacon roll..cereal or scrambled eggs....not forgetting the broon.....sometimes just a bit of toast with marmalade..prefer to have proper feed at Tea time..around 5pm....only have one meal a day now...do not have the same appetite as I once had, but think that is normal...sometimes before bed I might have a tea cake or similar, but not often...
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, fuels you up and gets you going, or so the experts say..

I'm usually either too lazy or running too late to bother ;-/
I tend to do what Minty does. Copious amounts of hot water then tea, until lunchtime. Then it's a sandwich or toast and egg. I then don't eat anything else, except perhaps a piece of fruit. until we have dinner usually around 8.00pm.
When I'm on holiday, however, I can eat a full breakfast with loads of toast first thing in the morning. Perhaps that's because someone else has cooked it.

Thanks for answers so far. Interestingly, I find that I'm now eating less carbs as well. My 2 rounds of toast in the morning (along with bacon/eggs/other) is often the only carbs I eat now (if you discount fruit at lunch time) and tea is often a plateful of veg/salad with a protein.
I never eat more that two/three rounds of bread a day. We eat very little bread.

My calories tend to come from the wine drinking.

cant fault that^^ Tilly ;-)
Not sensible though is it, Nailit? I do know that. :-(

Amazon.com User Recommendation

you must get one of these Tilly !
I think if you start something and repeat it a few times then you can get into the habit, and then the body/mind expects/craves it at that time. Similarly if you don't eat early on then, after a bit, your mind/body doesn't expect/want food then and pushes on until later.
That looks good apart from the price tag. Mother's Day gift eh ? They sure know mothers then.
Thanks for that Minty but the fridge will do. :-)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned porridge. Is it the wrong time of year for porridge?
Question Author
I tried porridge (with fruit) for a week or two Tills but found it too stodgy.

I rarely eat breakfast.

I have what my dad used to refer to as a hores breakfast....coffee and a cigarette.

If I'm peckish before lunch I might have a slice of gypsy toast.
What's gypsy toast, Ummmm?
French toast/eggy bread. I keep forgetting not many people call it gypsy toast.
