Hiya, so i'm looking to get my garden sorted out. I've got an area of about 19x25 foot that is just over grown, un level, patchy grass which i would like to just make good and have a flower bed going down the long side of it (nothing fancy and my mum has loads of plants she said i can have). I've got an area of 19x9 foot of concrete that a garage used to be on. I've got a shed to go over part of this area and for the remanding area (11x9 foot) i was thinking about getting the top layer of say 5cm of concrete out and just making it a hard standing area with some of that really small gravel. Lastly, i've also got an area of about 25x5 foot that is about 15cm lower than the grass area, which has been part filled with concrete. i would just like to finish off the concrete so it's all level and then have some decking put over it. I feel really lost about how to achieve all this. I had one guy come over today that's quoted me 15,000!!! which is way out of my budget. I have however spoken to a ground work company who have given me a rough price of about £1800 to dig up all the concrete that i want dug up, then move it to the place were i want the decking and concrete over it.I would really value any imput that people want to make as i don't know the first thing about gardening or how to get it done on a budget (i don't really want to spend more than 3k but i am happy to do some things myself) thank you in advance

in the process.......
work has had to stop because of a complete jerk mixing asbestos into all the soul i was going to use to level my garden out. Long story short, i think it was his pay back for when i had a massive go at him for dumping asbestos from my roof, and paid a proper firm to get rid of it , instead of giving him the £500 he demanded after he did it.
OK so you are getting it sorted, that's good. It's just that I had to have mine done in 2014 and I got horrendous prices from landscape gardeners. In the end I planned it myself and got a builder in to do it and it cost me about a quarter of what the LG's were asking.
Glad your getting yours done. It's lovely when it's finished and you can start planting.
Anyway off to bed now. Good night.

i know, as you can probably tell from my username i am renovating my house, and i've found with everything, it's so much cheaper to project manage it yourself. I am nearly there now, although i haven't done any thing "pretty" yet, it's really taking shape and i know it's going to look so nice once i've finished. And even with the problems i'm having, i'm defo gonna come in around the 3k mark, thank you for asking how it's going, night nights x
