My monthly update, for Sqad, and others ! Despite a so-called popular Budget, Labour still appears to be ahead in the Polls. It seems that we can't be bribed by a Tory Chancellor, not matter what he does.

LOL.....good morning mikey........I intend to vote Labour at the next election, as I could not stand another 5 yrs of " mikey angst."

Hurrah!! ;o)
i think mike is going to vote ukip. mark my words.
Not sure why you think it was a popular budget. IT was not unfavorable but then again didn't really give anything away to anyone.

If Milliband get in, just what do you think he will do? I suspect despite is marxist background it will be another Blair period ie closet Tory.

Svejk...go straight to the naughty step, and stay there until you have learnt a lesson !

I wouldn't agree that Blair was a closet Tory ymg, but if you said that he put the Labour Party more to the middle of British politics, then I wouldn't put up too much of a fight.

A lot is said about Blair these days, but people forget that he won a massive landslide in 1997 and then went onto win a further 2 elections. I am on record here in AB in saying that he would probably have won again in 2010, if he had not abdicated in favour of the disastrous Brown. So if we end up with a Blair lookalike in 2015, then I won't be too sorry.
mikey...yes, but I never use it, as I am not domiciled in the UK and feel that I should leave the voting to the " inhabitants."

Baldric...you are right, I need to make a visit to Specsavers, especially as its now free for people my age !

I am surprised that you agree that the Labour Party and it's supporters fit my description!
Question Author
LOL Baldric !
Yes a post post editing would be good !

My point was more along the lines of we have a coalition so it is not a true Tory Government by any means so a centre left labour Government would not really present much in the way of change.

There is no way Blair was anything like any labour person before and he certainly moved the labour party well right from what it was.

Fettes College and Oxford, yep, a real labour person of the people.
"Labour Still ahead, Even after the budget" - alleluya, praise the lord!

good point sqad. lets get Noo Laybore back in and stop all this whining!

gloatometer rising!
Your optimism is misplaced and too early.

The March 2015 budget will be the election bribe one.

Cameron and the Chancellor haven't started electioneering yet, my guess is that will begin at the party conference in September/october.
don't burst the bubble gromit, never seen mikey so happy, let him have the moment.

I think that Labour will return to power at the next election, the question is,
Will they do any good for the Country?
Of course they won't, why would they break the habit of a lifetime?
