Does anyone know who sang the song 'Boogie Nights'. I think it is a seventies song?

I think it was by a band called Heatwave.
Indeed it was - British funk at its finest.

The Groove Line was another great track of theirs.

Note: in the late 80s or early 90s, a terrible compilation of remixes was issued called Gangsters of the groove - many classic heatwave tracks with awful tinny drum sounds put over the top-if you see it, steer clear!

Likewise, the cover version of Boogie nights by Lafleur (I think) in about 1984.  Terrible!

The Barron Knights also did a great cover of "Boogie Nights" called "Boozey Nights".
