is quite an old song.

According to the website Zune there are hundreds of songs called/or containing PAIN. Try their site to narrow it down a bit, Hope this helps? (8o(])

it was a female singer, i am sure it was around the time of cherelle who sang on my own.
it may not of been called pain,she had a high pitched voice when she sang the word pain.
any ideas?

regards On My Own - is that the one sung by Patti LaBelle and Michael McDonald?

Thought this might be worth a try - could it be Chains sung by Tina Arena ?

no it was not tina arena and yes on my own was pattie la belle, i am sure this record pain was around the same time.
female with a high pitched voice when she sang pain in the chorus maybe.
