I use a BT8500 Advanced Call Blocker telephone at home, and have the and have the following question.
Is it possible to retain my list of allowable contacts within the phone, when I wish to begin setting up the telephone from scratch ?. When I receive a call from someone who is not on my allowable list, the caller is hard to hear, the response being very faint. When speaking to such a caller, after I have pressed the appropriate key to accept the call, the reply volume is normal and quite clear. The caller's sound volume is hard to understand apart from maybe two or three words. I am hoping that by resetting the system, I might find that there is a facility within the system that will allow me to increase the volume and thereby resolve the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have one of those phones and I adjust the volume by pressing to volume key on the left hand side, above the green telephone sign.

I've got one of those, actually an 8600, the de luxe version. What I don't understand is how, if your callers are not on the allowed list, do they get through in the first place.
If they're not on the allowed list they announce themselves and you then allow them to speak, Jackdaw.

I appreciate what you are all saying but I am talking about the sound volume of the caller when I press the key to ALLOW the call to be heard, after they have identified themselves
Does the volume adjust not work?

To clarify the matter, I am fully aware how to adjust the volume, once the caller has been allowed through, but I am referring to the sound volume of the caller BEFORE I allow them to be connected. If they are asked to identify themselves before they are put through, it is that volume that I am talking about. Once I have pressed the required number to accept their call, they then speak to me at the normal volume.
Ah, I see. Yes, you really do have to listen hard to hear who it is who's calling.

I haven't been much help to you, Scothern. Perhaps someone else has the answer.
