They have the prettiest girls, imo. Don't know whether that's a factor.

Thanks for that, made me laugh!
I like it here in Wales, but I would like it a whole better if it stopped raining !
If it stopped raining in Wales there would be no leeks (leaks)
Yes very happy.
But if I could afford it, I would dearly love to move to Cornwall. A small bungalow overlooking Newlyn would do me fine !
I love Wales, my Mother was Welsh so I have Welsh blood in me. mikey4444, it is dry in mid Wales at the moment, I'm confused by this lack of water falling from the sky, what's going on?
Mikey, I'd sooner be living in Wales than in Cornwall! Also Devon is much nicer than Cornwall!
I'm a very happy Essex girl.
Ratter...my Mum's family came from Exminster...there are 5 generations of Daveys buried in the churchyard there. I have spent many a wonderful holiday nearby in Dunsford in the 50's and early 60's, and Dartmoor is one of my favourite places !

But the rivalry between Devon and Cornwall cannot be denied of course.

There is a sign up at the Pasty counter, in the Eden Project, that goes something like this ::

" It was said that the Devil never ventured across the Tamar into Cornwall, as he had heard that those Cornish housewives would put anything into a Pasty, and he wasn't prepared to take the chance " !

I lived in West Somerset as a boy in the 60's before coming to Wales, and the whole ruddy West Country is wonderful !

Living on N/Kent Coast atm.

and luvving it.
We're moving later this month, but less than ½ mile to a Bungalow we've just done up, still on seafront and almost the same sea view.
Yes, I love where I live. I have everything I could possibly need (beautiful scenery, city life, fantastic countryside, great road and rail links, within easy reach of a great airport - why would I want to live anywhere else? I love going on holiday - but I would never want to live anywhere else
Yes,it's a nice area with an airport, East coast main line and both the A1 & M1 within a short drive. Both our families are fairly local so we're close most of our friends and relations. We've often discussed where we'd like to live and unlike most people we'd like to move North to some where in the Bamborough area.We know the weather can be rough but the scenery is fantastic and the people in general are very friendly, plus they've got some of the best beers in the country and they've still got some of the best traditional style pubs to sell it in.
Perhaps the question should be asked why NI people are the happiest?

Is it because they have lost so much over the years that they now count their blessings?
does it ever have dry day ? always look rainy to me,
