The Monkees recorded it in 1987 for their Pool It album. Wreckless Eric Eric Goulden) wrote it in 1974 and recorded it in or around 1977

It was the other way round for me. Remember the Simply Red hit Money’s Too Tight? Everybody raved about it but it seemed like nobody had ever heard of the original by Valentine Brothers – only released a few years earlier and far better.

It's not my all-time favourite song, but I was surprised to discover that the Stones hit 'It's All Over Now' was written by Bobby Womack, and was a it for his band The Valentios - it's a cracking version as well!
