Young Rascals---Groovin'
Dusty---My Coulouring Book
Sandy Denny---Who Knows WHere The Tlme Goes

These are just a few of them it's impossible just to pick ten
1. Being Boring - Pet Shop Boys
2. Like A Prayer - Madonna
3. Tears Dry On Their Own - Amy Winehouse
4. All I Need - Air
5. Love At First Sight - Kylie Minogue
6. Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye - Ella Fitzgerald
7. The Kiss - Judee Sill
8. Starman - David Bowie
9. I Want You Back - Jackson 5
10. Both Sides Now - Joni Mitchell

Honourable mentions:

11. Losing My Religion - REM
12. Between The Bars - Elliott Smith
13. At 17 - Janis Ian
14. Woodstock - Matthews Southern Comfort
15. 57821 - Janelle Monae
16. Crazy In Love
17. Heart Of Glass - Blondie
18. Love Child - The Supremes
19. If You Were There - Isley Brothers
20. Do You Ever Wonder - Alison Moyet

That list has pretty much stayed static for years. For me, my top ten represents perfection in each musical form, and 'Being Boring' has the greatest rhyming couplet of all time:

Now I sit with different faces
In rented rooms and foreign places
All the people I was kissing
Some are here and some are missing

(It's about the friends Neil Tennent lost over the years through AIDS...v sad).
And then I see others' lists and think "Oh yeah...those are blinders too" (Waterloo Sunset for example).
Randy Crawford One day I'll Fly Away
Elton John, Daniel/
Cockney Rebel, Come up and see Me make me smile
Gladys Knight, Midnight train to Georgia
George Michael- First time ever I saw your face
Ennio Morricone - Soldiers
George Michael - Jesus to a child.
Mammas and Papas, Monday Monday.
I have a certain seemingly endless fondness for this:

Something wonderful - Carly Simon

The wonder of you - Elvis Presley

Sometimes when we touch - Dan Hill.

Unchained melody -Righteous Brothers.

We've got tonight -Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton

Walk on -Roy Orbison

Just one smile - Gene Pitney

American trilogy - Elvis Presley

Perhaps love - John Denver and Placido Domingo

A love until the end of time - John Denver and Maureen McGovern.

I close my eyes and count to ten - Dusty Springfield

The way you look tonight - Edward Woodward

What a wonderful world - Louis Armstrong

We have all the time in the world - Louis Armstrong.

[Sorry, couldn't stop at 10! ]
Know what you mean sp1814, Ella Fitzgerald was the best, I'd forgotton about Dusty Springfield, Fat Larry's Zoom. It's all coming back to me now!
what's your song Ed i keep getting error
It's hard cupid, as sp says everytime you look at another list you think"How the hell did I forget that one"
Truly impossible to name fifty, I've tried. However is it at my end that Ed's won't play?

.... and a lot of classics mentioned in this thread I like a lot of them.
My favourite, and therefore my funeral, song is 'Who knows where the time goes' Sandy Denny.
I can't choose another nine.
Question Author
Yes - indeed looking at other people's list brings back to mind others i'd not thought of .

Therefore my list is not set in stone
Oh, weird.

It's Herman Dune - This will never happen.

They do fun stuff like this as well:

(This is You Could Be A Model by Herman Dune)
Oh Hell.

askyourgran has just reminded me about Dusty.

How could I have forgotten 'I Only Want To Be With You'???
If I fell Beatles
Under the Boardwalk Rolling Stones
In Dreams Roy Orbison
Running Scared Roy Orbison
Je T'aime Jane Birkin et Serge Gainsbourg
I want to Break Free Queen
and - of course - We have all the time in the world - Louis Armstrong
Hard to say as there are so many

Sex Machine - James Brown
Road Runner - Junior Walker
Oh Yeah - Roxy Music
Jealous Guy - Roxy Music
You`ll never find another love like mine - Lou Rawles
Young hearts run free - Candy Statton
Misty blue - Dorothy Moore
I`m not in love - 10cc
Summer Breeze - Isley Brothers
A different corner - George Michael
And AYG has just reminded me of George Michael. Whilst I like 'Jesus To A Child' (a lot), I persoally would add 'You Have Been Loved', if my list were expanded a little more.
Blimey, my favourites change with my mood, there are some consistent ones though

Whole Of The Moon by The Waterboys
Unfinished Sympathy by Massive Attack
Inside Out by Odyssey
Fix U by Coldpay
Why by Carly Simon
