is it in a soundtrack ? please anyone know
|

The film is "Carmen Jones". It's sung not Doris Day, but Dorothy Dandridge.
The link to hear the track on Youtube is here: You can buy the Carmen Jones soundtrack here: www.amazon.co.uk/Carmen-Jones-Original-Soundt rack/dp/B000UZ4CK4/ref=sr_1_1 With thanks to vulcan42 |

desktop,
Do you have a link for it, please? I know that others have put links on but you haven't and I'm not sure which song you're on about? If it is the famous 'Habanera' from the opera 'Carmen', then it's likely to be the link which vulcan and ellipsis have posted? As stated, it's from a film called 'Carmen Jones' for which the famous Oscar Hammerstein wrote the English lyrics but the music was all Bizet's. The cast was all black with Harry Belafonte playing the hero ('Joe)/(Don Jose). |

Desktop has not been able to post links on her threads. We've added guidance notes but it hasn't led anywhere.
Desktop- can i ask why you are asking. Have you heard an English version somewhere and you want to know who it was? Or is it just a general enquiry as to whether any English versions are available? |
|
Sorry, factor, I didn't realise.
And, yes, if it is 'Carmen Jones' , desktop, it was indeed Dorothy Dandridge in the title role. |
