That would be "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana - definitely not the pouges..
If that is your only reason for buying......you are just a bit , well
daft (imo of course) |
pouges?
I think Hopkirk has hit the nail on the head there !
Aren't the Military Wives making a run at it?
I would prefer to buy a Cd where the money goes to a charity, are there any about?
I think Hopkirk and Notas have a little too much faith in public taste.
I can't see anything keeping them off Xmas #1, although I really wouldn't be bothered if they were or weren't, what harm does it do? |
Get the Milatary wives, at least the proceeds go to a good cause and not into Simon Cowels pocket.
as above, i think the military wives will do a good job in keeping them down.
even a facebook page - see the link below the single. http://www.amazon.co....ef=pd_sl_28wb0bozy2_e |

Yes, I think the Military Wives are having a go - they get a lot of stick, but I quite like them.

Paul - they were knocked off the No1 spot last year by Rage Against The Machine. I would think after that happening there will be even more on board for the same sort of thing this year.
Although I think the Military Wives are bookies favourites anyway. |

aye I know Evian, which makes me think it's less likely this year, because that's been done now.
I don't like that idea anyway, buying someone elses track to spite another group, kind of goes against what Christmas is all about. |
I didn't know about the military wives, so at least there's a genuine competitor. The thing with the wanting to stop the x-factor getting to number 1 thing as now there'll be a few options, as per the Yak's dilemma, that could split the sales leaving little mick to walk it!
In the days when I cared about such important matters I once bought Cliff Richard's "Lord's Prayer" single in an effort to keep the Wam Du Project off the Christmas No 1 "slot" , largely because such a ridiculous fuss had been made about the former.

The sales of 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' also go to charity.

Yeah you're right Paul about there being so many going for it this year that the people who don't buy X Factor will be spread over the others and it will still probably get to No1.
I sort of agree with you that it doesn't really matter whats No1 but I do dislike the way it's just been taken for granted that the XFactor can rehash any old song (not even write their own original one) and it will get there. I would prefer to see something else at No1 but then I don't suppose I really have a say as I won't be buying any of them. |
I know what you mean Evian, but that's just what happens now, before the X factor did it Westlife dished up old covers and made fortunes.
If I were to orchestrate it all I'd have a relatively unheard of, upcoming band beat them to #1, one that had worked really hard to get any hint of recognition, that would be lovely! |
