Is It Weird To Attend A Concert Where The Audience Mostly Consists Of Your Opposite Gender?

Like a straight male attending a JB concert, or a straight girl attending a Metallica concert.
Because even TV shows make fun of this concept. And plus, knowing that I'm part of the minority makes me feel like an usual human being.
And it's not because I'm worried about what others think of me, it's knowing that I'm are doing something unusual , and it makes me feel uneasy. There's a difference between saying "God, what is everyone else is gonna think of me?" & "Dang it! This does not appeal to me, why do I like it?"
So is it really weird to attend? (And please don't delete post)

to the concert!! yes it does mean it's not weird. i'm getting so feed up of people feeling weird, or stupid or different because of people putting them down. i'm sure the people that put labels on everyone aren't happy, and there stupid insults just drive everyone else down and then we just end up living in a world full of upset and hurt.

However I note that the timings of your posts suggest that you might be in the USA, rather than in the UK (where this website is based). Perhaps that might explain the incredulity that your (many) posts on this topic generate among people on this website?
In British culture we simply don't have that male/female divide that you seem to be implying exists where you are. Indeed we don't put labels on our music in the same way that Americans seems to do. For example, we've never had the 'AM/FM' divide in musical styles that seems to exist in the USA. Similarly we have very few radio stations dedicated to particularly genres of music (such as country or rock). We simply have 'good music' and 'bad music'. Many of our DJs are happy to follow heavy rock with something by Mozart, some bubble-gum pop, a country number or a bit of folk.
Of course people's definitions of what constitutes 'good' or 'bad' music will differ but, irrespective of personal tastes, they are most definitely NOT based upon the genders of the listeners. (Unsurprisingly, given that their physical attributes are intended to appeal to young women, most people who attend 'boy band' concerts here, as anywhere else, are indeed young women but nobody would even raise an eyebrow at a man attending; it simply doesn't happen here in the UK).
So you need to ask yourself whether it's your American culture that's weird or simply your own perception of it. Your posts don't make sense to us!

@Buenchico Is this website filled with British people? And from what you told me, then are their straight 1D fans that actually don't get judged/ridiculed for liking them? Because your considered stupid if you do in America!

i've been thinking this about myself recently. We're living in a society where without even realizing it we're forced to conform to a certain way of living, ie get a job, get married, get a mortgage, have children and work till you're at least 60 to pay for it all. i think if most people think about it, they would rather spend the 500,000 at least to do all this on something else. you should do whatever makes you happy as long as you're not hurting anyone and i wouldn't even bother to think too deeply about it. i sing along to the radio when i'm walking my little pup. i know most people don't do that so therefore it's not "normal" do i care? no, cos i'm happy. please go, and come back on here and tell us how it was.

Unreconstructed homophobes would probably have a good old chuckle about t, though and it is difficult to not raise your eyebrows while laughing.
Maybe these repeated threads are an attempt to get someone to say something homophobic so that they can be banned and/or get their ISP to terminate their services? (hate speech is specified in most service T&Cs, these days).

Yes, although as it's approaching 3am here, there aren't many around just at the moment! (We do have a few regular contributors from the USA, France, Germany, Australia, etc but they're only a handful among the many Brits who use this site).

Although I'm retired now, I've taught in secondary schools (= your high schools), where you might expect any such prejudices to show up, and I NEVER encountered them at all. We're generally a very laid-back and tolerant society here; if our TV stations mock anything it's likely to be politicians (in general) and religion (Christianity in particular)
