I was thinking something with instruments with people playing then ,not electronic backing tapes ,guys like "Thirteen Senses" It has taken them 2 years to write and record their new record ,this is something to sit back and listen.
I honestly think the music in the UK has gone to the dogs - chart wise. Thank goodness for bands like Biffy Clyro, Arctic Monkeys and Kasbaian. Sadly, there is more interest in Pop Idol X Factor etc. I can thoroughly recommend getting out around the hundreds of venues up and down Britain and see some brilliant live bands playing their own stuff and waiting for that big break. They struggle even more now because the pubs are struggling too so can't afford to pay them much if anything, but their passion for playing is so great they don't really care about the pay! Of course now I'm going to plug a band too. check them out on http://fakecitylights.com/
Keep an eye out for a wave of American bands finally breaking the UK. Band of Horses, Cut Copy, The Field, The Hold Steady and my personal favourite The National. Don't forget there are instrumental bands big in the charts, look at the headliners for the festivals this sumer. MUSE, Foo Fighters, U2 etc.
