why do motor racers go round a circuit clockwise, why not the other way?

Erm, theu dont. 3 of this years F1 GP's are anti-clockwise comprising Singapore, Brazil & Turkey

If they all went different ways judrop, they would crash into each other halfway round.

I've heard that we are going to start driving on the right instead of the left in a few years to come. But we are going to do it gradually so as not to confuse people.
