mot and insurance but cant get tax till monday?

Been rushin round like a mad thing to get my mini van ready for the london to Brighton mini run. Its got very tight on time, even though I been restoring it for the last year. Anyways, today (saturday it passed it MOT) and I have insurance, but the insurance company cant get a cover note to me untill monday, meaning I cant get tax till monday.
Does anyone know, if I can legally drive to the mini show, which is tommorrow (sunday). Because when I buy the tax, it'll be back dated to the begining of the month? Really want to go, but dont really want to loose my mini van.

Thank you for your answer. But can I ask where you got your information to find this out? Thanks.

if you can be fined for actually having tax but not displaying it then its highly unlikely that youll get away with driving the vehicle when you havnt even paid for the tax.

could try taxing it online, at least then you'd be taxed and the police have access to the database. When you tax on line, the last page is a receipt you can print off as proof you have paid the duty.

Not 100% sure on legal side of this though, and also as it's only been insured today you car may not be in the insurance database yet, but you can check that yourself

Even if you did manage to tax it online (and this is unlikely because of the insurance problem mentioned by ChuckFiickens) you will still be guilty of an offence if you do not display a valid tax disc.
