lap seatbelt laws

i'm restoring my 1965 Chevy c10 truck and was wondering if i have to have shoulder belts if i don't plan on registering it as a classic. plan on using it for daily use not just to sit in the drive way and go a place or two every once in a while. if someone could answer would be awesome.

The wearing of seat belts became compulsory in 1983, as your car is 1965 seat belts are not required. As you intend it for daily use I would suggest fitting three point belts from a safety point of view.
