Fitting a new car radio into a '04 Astra.

I put this into How It Works earlier as I hadn't noticed a Motoring section http://www.theanswerb...s/Question986152.html The only reason I am reposting is just in case someone with motoring knowledge has a solution to the problem, other than that I'll just get it done on wednesday. The thing is I', wondering how the guy who said he'd fit it for £25 is going to do it for that price. He said all I'd need is an aerial adapter and I'm just wondering if maybe he hasn't realised that other adapters are needed or can it be done without the extra adapters?

Either, he will cut the plug off the end of the existing wiring loom and join the correct wires to the correct ones on the plug that goes into the stereo. or he has a cheaper place to get hold of the ISO connector.

The ISO kit means you can probably do it yourself and you have the option of refitting the original stereo in the future, if he uses a cheaper sourced ISO connector then no worries, if he cuts the wires then it'll be fine if he does a good job but refitting the original stereo will be a pain.

Mmm. I see what you are saying. Don't know what to do to be honest cos I'm thinking maybe he will just chop it which will cause problems later. Might even just try taking it back tot he shop I got it and try and get the whole thing done in Halfords.

Yeah Albags, Chuck pointed them out earlier. The thing is I've paid £60 for the stereo so I don't really want to start getting new leads. Think I'll chance taking it back and making the point that I shouldn't be expected to buy a stereo and then have to spend another £20+ for extras. I should be able to get the thing in Halfords and then fitted with less hassle methinks. Cheers anyway man.
