My Citroen Picasso ingnition key appeared to have aged, the buttons cracked and then fell out, leaveing me to now use the key in the door. A Citroen dealer said the Picasso key has now been modified and would cost 180. I wrote to Citroen UK of the extortionate cost of the key, they said that they are not aware of any inherent faults with the Picasso key, but offered me 250 towards the cost of a new Citroen car. Since new, my car has had three recalls for modifications, which were done free of charge, but Citroen UK would not give me a key free of charge.

I like your username.
But you've put me off buying a Citroen. Personally I'm a Peugeot fan.
I don't think they are being very fair to you and you should go to the press who will print your story and you will get a key for free.
:-)

Thank you for that LEXIE I will
Only NOT the Sun, as they will want your age, mothers name, how many affairs you have had, and ask if you are claiming any benefits.
pick a classy newspaper and you might get a bunch of flowers too.
:-)
general philosophy gained over the years of owning, driving and maintaining allsorts of models and makes of cars is if it's french it's sh!te.

I quite agree with you Tonyav, I use to know the 2CV Citroen's as deck chairs on wheels, which school teachers drove
you are right about the citroen 2cv, one of the ugliest cars ever built ( upside down pram ) along with the volkswagen beetle. citroen have a long and illustrious history of making butt ugly sh!te cars.
I can't recall too many people thinking that the DS was an ugly car and the SM was rather pretty too (although reliability of a mixture of Citroen and Maserati must be questionable)
I've had a VW Beetle and a Citroen 2CV6........I don't know much about cars........
Why noy go back and complain again when the dealer is really busy tying to sell new cars. They might give you a new key just to get rid of you as your complaint might put future purchasers off!! ;o)
jake, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ( they were shi!te.)
It certainly is Jake - my now-deceased-ex-father-in-law absolutely loved his Reliant 3-wheeler van (not a Robin - they were "naff" !!) He called it Crow & it was his pride & joy.
Apparently the citroen 2cv had the best suspension of any car .

Believe it or not.
you can get a new central locking system complete with keys for less than 180

The DS was also waaay more advanced technically.

And lets not forget the Renault Espace which invented the people carrier concept

French cars have been pretty innovative over the years and deserve better than a grunting "they're all *****"

yes jake they were technically advanced ( especially the suspension ) for their time, but i'm afraid you won't change my opinion of them. ( tonyav not tonyted ).
