Honda Jazz

Just how much better is the new Honda Jazz compared
with the older version? Is it worth making the switch, or
are the improvements only marginal ? Scylax (Sat 14:29 04/Jul/09)

Hi, I trade cars part time and tend to specialise in Japanese cars where I can...

In the UK, the old shape Jazz replaced the unrespected and unloved Logo. The Logo was an after thought model aimed at retired people who wanted to update their old Civic but couldn't afford a new one. The Logo was short lived and the Jazz was designed to improve on the Logo. Extremely reliable and roomy, it became extremely popular but interiors and equipment levels hark back to the origins concept of the Logo. However, people started buying the Jazz for its own sake, not just because they wanted a Honda but couldn't stretch to a Civic.

The new Jazz builds on that concept and therefore is entirely different. While it looks similar, design detail is more modern and sophisticated and the equipment and trim levels have improved quite a lot. Its now an easier car to use on the open road.

So, in short, yes its worth changing - absolutely.

However, as I've said previously, NEVER EVER part exchange your car. Get a few part exchange values and then add 1000 to 1500 and try to sell it privately. Anything you get offered over the highest part exchange value, take. Even if a trader buys it, you'll get more for it and the money is better off in your pocket...
