Can you use the old style paper driving licence to hire a car in Florida? Or do you need the new photo licence card?Thanks for your help.

as far as i know you don't need an IDP international driving permit for the USA but make sure
Old style paper licence is fine along with photo id (passport) and you don't need an international driving permit.
If you have the "new" photo card style licence you have to remember that this is NOT the complete licence. You will required to also take/show the paper counterpart which lists your fines/endorsements. Both parts together constitute the licence, not just one part.
