Thinking about getting a Sat Nav

There's so many on the market and I just don't know where to begin! I did borrow a mate's Tom Tom and got on ok with it.

Can anyone recommend a certain Tom Tom or any other specific type?

Not wanting it for going abroard or anything like that. Oh and don't think I'll be needing it for going anywhere on foot (saw someone doing that other day - most bizarre!!)

Cheers C

I would recommend a Garmin - Amazon are the best price at the moment.

Dont bother getting a widescreen one - not worth the extra money.

I def prefer Garmin to Tom Tom!

I've recently been given a Nav Man without a manual. It's been really easy to work out how to use. Screens are clear and voices on offer are not too annoying!!

Go for the Garmin nuvi, much better graphics and nowhere near as bulky as the overated Tom Tom.

With the Garmin if your in an unfamiliar town and you park your car just touch the car on the screen and you can take the Garmin with you, it will guide you back to your car.

For the last four years I have been visiting London regularly as my daughter was in uni. I heard that SatNavs often lost signal in Central London due to the high buildings. I was prepared to pay out for an expensive model but on a friend's advice I bought a TomTom1. I have never regretted it. It has saved me hours of frustration and it gave me confidence driving through London. It was also excellent at avoiding the congestion zone!!
