MOT failure?

There is a 2 inch hole/slash, due to rust/corrosion, in the bottom of my cars spare wheel well. Is this location key for passing an MOT? Is this area considered 'structural'?

Approx. how much will it cost to weld in a new plate?

Thanks

If it is not within 30 cm of a brake or supension mounting then it should be ok
But some testers ee it as a right to fail cars because of a little corrosion

discuss with your mot tester, but a plate, pop-riveted in position may soffice, I believe

yes 30cm away from a seat belt ancor point/suspension/steering.etc.is classed as an advisory.
now welding wen you start to prep the hole for a plate to be welded on they tend to grow until you get good metal.but around 40/50 is about right without seeing it
