Does anyone know how long it would take for a new registration to come through the post. I'm buying a car off my friend and she's got a personalised number plate on it and she's taken it off and sent off for another one for me. She sent it a week ago yesterday remembering it was bank holiday yesterday. Thanks Do they send things 2nd class or first.

She should not have taken it off untill she received her new number plate details from the dvla, the car is now illegal to be on the road.

She should have left the plates on until the dvla completed the transfer so you could use it.

could take a couple of weeks.

Sorry if you got that wrong her personalised number plates still on till sh gets the letter or whatever it is off the dvla to change it then get new plates and i can buy it.
