fird mondeo air bag warning light

the air bag warning light suddenly started flashing, my car is a ford mondeo verona 2001 1.8 petrol, can anyone advise the cause thank you

is it flashing in a sequence ? the Escorts use to flash in certain sequences which indicated the problem, a common one was the connection to the seat pretensioners..
Im not certain wether its the same on a Mondeo, the only way to check 100% is to get it plugged into a diagnostic system..Doesnt have to be Ford dealer most garages have some form of kit these days.
