1998 Clio 1.4 - Starting probelms

I have had my car for a few months, it often starts when it is cold but if it has been running for a while and I stop, the car will not start again for at least 10 minutes. Has anyone got any idea's or had the same problems. I have but it in to the garage, but the had it for 2 days and could find nothing worng with it.
When it is cold it starts when it it hot it doesn't. I stalled it this morning and i had to wanit for 5 mins before it would start again.

When it stalls, does it rtick over when trying to re-start it or is it completely dead then bursts into life? It sounds like a dodgy battery connection but need more details! Have you an immobiliser also?
