Mondeo mk3 radio/cd

I 've the 6000 series of radio/cd player in my mk 3 Mondeo .For some unknown reason if you put the radio on from cold it will perform ok for about 5/10 mins then just fade out ,signal gone.However ,when this happends i can still get MW and the CDstill works any ideas ?? ariel etc .

had the same problem with mine.was told fm receiver was faulty.and would cost 60 to 70 pounds to repair.i bought one of e bay for £35 and it works perfect.it seems that this is a common fault with this model.

Thanks for the reply .When you use the term 'FM' receiver what are you refering to ,something in the radio ,the ariel ??.
