I find this a bit of a grey area but....can you only drive a minibus if your licence shows a Category D1? If so and you do have D1, can you drive any minibus or are there limitations depending on you age, training, amount of seats on minibus etc?

Have spoken to both DVLA and ROPSA and both give different answers. Please help!!!

By the way this for non hire and reward drivers.

I think as long as you passed you test before 1/1/97, you can drive a minibus with 17 seat (inc driver) not for hire or reward.

If you are caught with the wrong Licence it won't be a gray area, the police will have you one way or another, check with them!
